Cathay Pacific's The Wing, First reopened to passengers on 22 April 2026, on the east side of Terminal 1 at Hong Kong International Airport. The lounge has been one of Cathay's key lounges since the airport opened in 1998.
Another piece of news may matter more for everyday travel: Cathay says The Wing, Business will close for refurbishment and reopen in 2027.
Same designer, new flooring
The renovation continues Cathay's collaboration with London design studio StudioIlse. Green onyx remains the main material, walnut is newly introduced as the principal timber, and granite is used for the flooring for the first time.
Cathay has also introduced a range of bespoke furniture and lighting for the lounge.
Order, sit down and have the meal brought to your table
The Dining Room offers à la carte table service. The regional Chinese dishes on the menu were developed by Cathay with restaurant group Mott 32, and include signature dishes and a monthly selection.
The Atrium is a light-filled central space with a green onyx bar and an expanded self-service Pantry; the food changes through the day, from breakfast and afternoon tea to evening bites.
The Bureau and The Alcove: workspaces for the wait
The Bureau is a fully enclosed workspace for focused work or small meetings, with two lighting modes, Engaged and Focused.
The Alcove has five multipurpose booths, each with a compact table and charging points.
Seven massage booths and three shower modes
The Retreat has seven private booths offering foot, or neck and shoulder, massages. According to the UK outlet Travelling for Business, the concept was first introduced at The Pier, First.
On the showers, the same outlet reports that the water and lighting are adjustable, with three modes: cleanse, refresh and relax.
